An obsessive sense of responsibility that compels you to go everywhere to destroy all bad ideas, all at once and all at the same time, is almost as crazy as not fighting them at all. There is a spectrum between irresponsibility – bad – and total responsibility – bad. In between, there is a mixture of responsibility and irresponsibility. This is a perfectly acceptable attitude.

The most fundamental button man has is help. And that button which can be most easily tampered with or upset or aberrated in man is help. When help is straightened out in an individual, not only does his IQ go up but his freedom, of course, and belief and confidence in himself increase. Help is the button which can be just knocked to pieces or re-established in the individual. That's a tremendously powerful button.

The viewpoint of a professional is that the end result of your observation is simplicity, not complexity. The end result is simplicity. A thing is what it is. What's complicated is the world's unwillingness to face anything.

The merchants of fear have lost all ability themselves to create, they cannot work themselves, they must either amass money which is never to be spent or must prevent others from amassing money. They produce nothing, they must steal one way or another, and then devaluate whatever they obtain. They speak very sternly of honesty or ethics and put on a formidable front of complete legality.

What you find in the Library of Scientology Materials is the collaborative work and effort of many individuals over the past decades. It is the product of dedicated Scientologists who recognize the incredible legacy L. Ron Hubbard has given to mankind and have taken responsibility for preserving and sharing it.

If you, the individual, knew the truth and were processed toward the truth, you would be free. Only lies degrade you. This is the lesson of Scientology. The opposition deals with days where we deal with eternity.

The physical universe is built on a games condition and the optimum game in the physical universe is described by exactly these rules: minimum ease of entrance, followed by maximum involvement.

An individual becomes aberrated by additives. His experiences in this universe are usually calculated to degrade and depower him. All you have to do is pick up all of these criss-crosses; you return him to power.

As an individual goes up the tone scale, he is more and more of the dynamics and he is more in each dynamic. You expand your space into the dynamics. You expand your control, your knowledge, and your responsibility into the dynamics.

Now, there can be chronic tone as a body plus thetan, or there can be chronic tone as a thetan. And chronic tone of body plus thetan can be apparently at enthusiasm, whereas…

A game is composed of freedom, barriers, and purposes. There isn’t any purpose to life at all. You can assign purpose to life, and if you don’t, nobody will. Purpose has to be assigned to life because it is purposeless.

A welfare state requiring no contribution will at length be paid in revolution. A hat "worn" without contributing to the team… will cause an upset and discomfort in oneself, a harmful reaction from others, and reactions within the remainder of the team.

A civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where Man is free to rise to greater heights, are the aims of Scientology.

It isn’t ten minutes of relaxation, relief or rest, of you, a body, of somatics. It means ten minutes of no body, no engrams, no walls, no Physical Universe, no sound, no thought: really nothing.

It is probably also the first time in many thousands of years that it is possible to simply say no. Today, we have achieved the level of prosperity that allows us to say no. But does that make "yes-sayers" the losers? There may be a spark of truth in this. I think "yes-sayers" are courageous people. They are people who set off for new horizons. They are the ones who invest in the future – and believe in it.

The weird idea is that one only lives but once. The truth in auditing is, if you don't run the incidents given by the Preclear he doesn't get well. It is not the auditor's role to handle the philosophic or social aspects of incidents.

We should be connected – with our fellow humans, near and far – but also with the living and non-living world, such as animals, plants, and the material environment.

A society functions essentially through education. This education makes it possible to acquire and deepen this knowledge - it really is a school of life.
