There is much talk about humanity entering a Golden Age, about people awakening, expanding their awareness, and reaching higher vibrations. We are often advised to maintain only positive thoughts and not give in to negative ones. The Bible also tells us to trust in God's Word. The teachings of the East likewise state that man is the product of his thoughts.

I am firmly convinced that better times are ahead. Through my work, I strive every day to ensure that Auditing takes place and courses are delivered. At the same time, I make sure to receive Auditing regularly myself and to study one of Ron's lectures again and again. This also provides me with fresh inspiration for my newsletters.

The mind is a fascinating "thing": as a Thetan moves upward on the Tone Scale, the amount of negative energy in the mind decreases.

Auditing does not work by erasing every single engram, clearing every single withhold, or resolving every ARC Break individually. Rather, it raises the person toward self-determinism – that is, to a level above 4.0 on the Tone Scale.

Self-determination is different from self-determinism. Self-determination is granted to everyone, regardless of where they are on the Tone Scale. Self-determinism, on the other hand, comes from within. It is: Survives, Right, Full Responsible, Owns All, Everyone, Always, Motion Source, Truth, Faith, I Know, Cause, I Am.

Other-determinism, in contrast, is: Dead, Wrong, No Responsibility, Owns Nothing, Nobody, Never, Stopped, Hallucination, Distrust, I Know Not, Full Effect, I Am Not. [Chart of Attitudes, Scientology 0-8]

The higher one rises on the Tone Scale, the less influence the entire Reactive Mind has. This does not mean, however, that it has already been completely erased.

In the early years, research was conducted on what became known as the "One Shot Clear" – the idea that one could receive a single "shot" and everything would be fine afterwards. Such a state was achieved through Exteriorization, that is, leaving the body. It is often a wonderful experience: all negativity is far away. In the case of a near-death experience, some Thetans do not even wish to return. In an instant, one reaches the level of self-determinism. However, this state often does not last very long. What remains is an important and life-changing experience, even though the Reactive Mind eventually returns.

A dangerous environment – and Earth is a dangerous environment – continually pushes a person downward. If the Reactive Mind has not truly been erased, it regains its influence. That is why every step on the Bridge is so important.

In the book Scientology 8-80, Ron writes about vibrations, which he calls waves. Aesthetics is very high on the scale and has a very fine wave. Effort lies much lower and has a long wave. Every emotion has its own wave. These waves are not merely smooth, flowing patterns that are simply longer or shorter. They can also be irregular, jagged, or even impulsive.

These waves can be felt and perceived. Sometimes it is interesting to withdraw your attention from the eyes and the other physical perceptions and simply try to perceive the waves themselves – even the deep and coarse ones. Just perceive them as they are. They often tell you far more than a fixed stare or tear-filled eyes.

Life with all its responsibilities, together with the endless Entheta – the bad news – is not easy for every Thetan to bear. It can weigh heavily on a person and push them down the Tone Scale. Self-determinism is demonstrated by being able to remain high despite life's challenges, or by recovering within a reasonable time after a setback. Anyone who believes that one always remains high on the Tone Scale has hardly experienced life. Life includes every level of the scale. That is precisely what makes it a game.

To bring about positive change – whether locally or worldwide – high-toned waves or vibrations must be authentic. One can avoid life by retreating into digital universes or by simply living on welfare. One can also try to keep oneself artificially "high" through various tricks. But it is a mistake to believe that the regular use of drugs, alcohol, or medication automatically produces genuinely positive or even world-changing vibrations.

Understand what the game is. Understand who you are, how you can improve yourself, and what you should avoid. Live your dynamics and walk your own path.
